Memory Monday: Jump Rope for Heart

My memory is not the greatest, and is extremely unreliable prior to age 9. But I hope to present Memory Mondays, an occasional offering from the recesses of my mind.

Kai brought home a fundraiser sheet for the the 30th Anniversary Jump Rope for Heart. I remember doing the very same thing when I was in first grade at Sacred Hearts Convent. It was so much fun.

I vaguely remember jumping in my school uniform. What an odd sight that was! Can you see it? :) I loved jumping rope. I was an extremely good jumper. My method of throwing tantrums was jumping up and down so hard that my feet would kick my own behind. Despite that though, I practiced for days beforehand.

I'm excited for Kai to jump, but I just realized that I've never seen him jump rope. Can he? we'll have to work on it for the next couple of weeks. He'll jump on April 9th.

Ok, so here's the part where I hit you up for a donation. Tacky, I know! The children have been asked not to go door to door collecting donations or to talk to strangers to ensure their safety. The money the school raises will help fund:

  • life saving research
  • education of our doctors and community
  • helping the school receive PE equipment
The school is proud to be joining the fight against our nation's #1 & #3 killers - cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Donations are due this Thursday. Thanks!
